A national touring lecture on autism education and rehabilitation was launched in Beijing on June 19.

The event was organized by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and the Beijing Jiufu Public Foundation (BJPF) and Wucailu, a Beijing-based rehabilitation center for autistic children.

The touring lecture aims at raising more awareness about autism and publicizing scientific treatment concepts, promoting the development of autism education and the rehabilitation industry.

Sun Menglin, president and chief expert of Wucailu, said in the lecture that parents of autistic children should nurture scientific concepts that set up a basic goal of individualized intervention based on each child's condition so that all autistic children could gradually build confidence.

In order to further enrich the service system for autistic children and guide them and their parents to follow scientific concepts of rehabilitation, the CCTF and the BJPF founded a special fund for autistic children in April 2019.

The fund will invite experts in autism to create a team to provide professional and scientific support to the project.

In addition to touring lectures, the project will organize various activities,  including autistic rehabilitation teacher training and offering financial assistance to autistic children in poverty while subsidizing autism-related institutions.
