On June 20, 2026, the first event of the Overseas Culture Week under the global giant panda cultural exchange activity, themed "Panda and Ecology: A Community of Life," was held in Bonn, Germany. The event coincided with the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, and its connotations of "following the natural order" and "harmony between heaven and humanity" were highly compatible with the event's advocacy of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Chengdu and Bonn have been sister cities for over a decade; the former is a panda homeland nurtured by the Minjiang River and a park city, while the latter is an ecological city on the Rhine and a city of music. Over 40 Chinese and German guests engaged in in-depth dialogues on sustainable development, ecological governance, intangible cultural heritage preservation, and industrial collaboration.
